Misayo Kawashima

This is a collaboration with the Japanese calligraphy artist Misayo Kawashima.

Already at the age of eight she began her Shodo training (Japanese calligraphy).

After graduating the traditional school ‘Suzurankai’ she received her mastertitle ‘Koun’(scent of rain).

Furthermore she studied Japanese and Chinese art and literature in Japan, as well as fine arts in New York.

“When your mind is clear, everything around you is clear. When your mind is dark, all the light becomes dark.

Let´s put a blank sheet of paper in front of you. Don’t hold the past.

Try adding new colours (writing).”

"Finding the mood, the line, the moment. Every piece of my work is unique, crafted in a moment that won't come back. Calligraphy is about intuition and perfection, starting with an idea that translates into a process, thriving for perfection in every stroke."

We enjoy connecting with people who share the same appreciation for their work. Individuals who craft things to last.

When considering a collaboration, we always seek someone who inspires us.The person. The work. The message.

Whether it's a poem, a painting, or any form of expression.Misayo has been inspiring us since the first moment we met.

We are delighted to share our wonderful project with you.
